Cookie Policy

Why we use cookies

We use first-party and third-party cookies for several reasons. Some are required for technical reasons in order for our site to operate. Others provide a better experience on our site by remembering some of your activities on the site (including through our plug-ins, widgets, and embedded content). Other cookies enable more relevant advertising and better analytics.

Essential Cookies. Some cookies are required for the site to operate, for example, in the following ways:

  1. To identify you as being logged into the site

Cookies for Features and Services. Some cookies provide a better experience on our site. For example, without cookies to remember some of your settings and activities on our site, the following functionality may become unavailable:

  1. Remembering if you have already engaged with particular content on the site to avoid showing these items to you again

Cookies for Analytics and Personalisation. Some cookies collect information about how you use the site to help us improve how our site is being used, and to help us understand what may interest you and personalise your experience accordingly. These cookies, for example:

  1. Generate statistics on how the site is used, including to measure any errors that occur or to obtain data on the number of users of the site that have viewed a page
  2. Test different designs for the site
  3. Help us track email response rates, identify when our emails are viewed, and track whether our emails are forwarded
  4. Collect or transmit information about you, such as your browser type and search preferences, and your use of the site or third-party sites that incorporate part of the site

Advertising Cookies. We and third parties use cookies to make advertising more relevant to you. They perform functions like measuring the performance of ads, preventing the same ad from continuously reappearing, ensuring that ads are properly displayed, and in some cases selecting ads that are based on your visits to our site and other sites. These cookies, for example:

  1. Provide feedback to advertising partners that one of their visitors also visited the site
  2. Provide our advertisers with data relating to ads that have been displayed to you or that you have clicked on, and the date and time of your use

The Facebook pixel collects five types of data:

  1. HTTP headers– Anything present in HTTP headers. HTTP headers are a standard web protocol sent between any browser request and any server on the Internet. HTTP headers include IP addresses, information about the web browser, page location, document, referrer and person using the website.
  2. Pixel-specific data– This includes the pixel ID and Facebook cookie.
  3. Button click data– This includes any buttons clicked by site visitors, the labels of those buttons and any pages visited as a result of the button clicks.
  4. Optional values– Developers and marketers can optionally choose to send additional information about the visit through custom data events. Example custom data events are conversion value, page type and more.
  5. Form Field Names– This includes website field names such as “email”, “address” and “quantity” when a person purchases a product or service. The pixel does not capture field values unless an advertiser includes them as part of advanced matching or optional values.

How you can control Cookies

You can amend or “opt out” of the collection of any information through cookies or other tracking technology by actively managing the settings on your browser or mobile device. Please note that turning off or deleting cookies will not prevent device identification and related data collection from occurring. As the means by which you can refuse cookies through your web browser controls vary from browser-to-browser, you should visit your browser’s or mobile device’s technical information for instructions on how to delete and disable cookies, and other tracking/recording tools.
