Music Review : Robinson “Nothing To Regret”

Artist: Robinson
Single: Nothing To Regret [Explicit]

Can we all agree that Robinson is the next Lorde?
Kiwi music comes in many, many forms, but the mainstays are constantly up for debate. Particularly when you have the Aussies constantly fishing in our waters and an alarming number leaving our shores. Nevertheless, one thing is certain, Robinson is on the rise!
It’s clear that while Robinson is still only 21, the Nelson born native’s new single ‘Nothing To Regret’ has struck a chord with listeners young and old. Currently, at over 3.5 million plays on Spotify, it goes without saying that this sugar-soaked pop song is doing something right.
Beneath the mournful keys and pulsing crisp snare, Robinson’s lyrics transport you to the fleeting weekend ritual. Being an adult, all week can suck, but not making the most of the weekend is even worse. Robinson reminds us of this and our perennial desire to act young and carefree.
Robinson seemingly came out of nowhere back in 2017 with the breakout success of ‘Crave You’. But once in a while, there’s a song that from the get-go you know is going to be a hit. ‘Nothing To Regret’ is exactly that. It’s super laid back, fun and catchy. The perfect song to lose track of time to or even start a party. The new anthem for the YOLO & FOMO at heart.
We give ‘Nothing To Regret’ 3 out of 5-weekend emojis.
